Don't fight the old system. Build one that makes it obsolete.
Entrepreneurs for Good is my charitable arm. It's the umbrella for everything I do where I'm giving back, and it's built on one belief: a business, run the right way, is one of the greatest forces for good we have.
Make the best of the system we've got.
You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.Buckminster Fuller
Whether we like them or not, there are systems that govern how we live and work. It's one thing to fight for a completely different system. It's another to make the best of the one we've got.
We could debate socialism, capitalism and communism all day. But I'm a man of action. With the life I've built and the skills I have, I can do more good supporting small and medium businesses that genuinely care than I ever could fighting anybody's agenda.
If more businesses understood social impact, I believe it's perfectly possible to make a profit and do it in a way that helps: employ people the right way, look after them, train them, support them.
Family extends far beyond blood.
We all have people we call family who aren't technically related to us. And most of us spend more hours with the people we work with than with our own families.
If we don't treat those people as family, that's a huge part of our lives spent with people we don't really care for. That's where business can change things.
It's not just what you do with the profit. It's how you make it.
A business is a social force, for good or otherwise. Everything is connected and nothing is intrinsically isolated, so being a force for good shows up everywhere:
